12/14/2023 0 Comments Ds lite gameboy macro youtubeI've seen tutorials which say that you need the ribbon cable from the top screen to solder your resistor to. The one thing that will give a reliable result 100% of the time is a resistor of the correct resistance. While it might work for some, it's not a reliable method, and LEDs combined with the attached wires makes for too much wasted space inside the DS' case. I got to 5 before I ran out of LEDs and gave up. My second test, after discovering that jumping the test pads doesn't work, involved attaching a series of LEDs to the test pads. I've also seen tutorials suggesting that using a LED will work. I've seen tutorials saying that you just need to jump (connect two points with wire or solder) the test pads marked LEDA2 and LEDC2, but I've tried this on two DS Lites and a DS Phat, and I can tell you that it will not work. You will need a source of resistors to make this work. The small black bar on the connector hinges up to allow the cable to be removed and reinserted. On the DS Lite, it runs to the left on the same side of the board. On the DS Phat, it runs through a hole in the board to its' connector on the back of the board. The one ribbon cable we need to be careful with and not ruin is the one which attaches the lower screen to the main board. Despite what other tutorials might say, we don't need it. If you tear it or it's been torn already, don't worry. The ribbon cable for the top screen can sometimes be difficult to remove. Don't lose it! The DS Lite will not boot without it! However, the cable attached to it can be removed and left off. On the DS Lite, the WiFi board is plugged into a slot. On the original DS, the DS Phat, the WiFi board is soldered to the main board and cannot be removed. If you can't work it out, go ahead and clip it. The WiFi antenna cable is small and black, and runs under the DS slot. I ripped one apart on accident once, but it's not important since we won't need the touch screen for GBA games. The ribbon cable for the touch digitizer of the lower screen is tiny, and it's connector is very fragile. You'll also need to disconnect all the ribbon cables inside. There are a few screws on the inside that secure the main board, and you'll need to remove them. You remove the battery cover and battery, remove all the tri-wing screws, and open the case. I'm a fan of white with black accents, so I used a white primer topped with a few coats of a clear enamel, since that's what I had in my garage at the time.ĭisassembling the DS Lite is rather straight-forward. I'm sure you can find it at any auto part store.ġ0. I bought my can of bondo at WalMart, of all places. I bought a set of smaller files and larger rasps at my local hardware store some time ago for a different project.ĩ. I have a basic Dremel tool, available at hardware stores.Ĩ. If you want it to work and also want it to look good, Then you will need the following as well:ħ. The above covers everything that we need to make this mod work. We'll talk about these in their own step. Not required, but will help very much with the resistors.Ħ. I got a set from the 99 Cent Store, among other stores.Ĥ. You can get these from various on-line shops, I got mine from Amazon.ģ. This cannot be done with a DSi, as it has no GBA slot.Ģ. So when the owner of the local game shop offered me a stack of "broken" DS Lites for $15, I knew what I needed to do: I was finally going to build the Gameboy Macro I've been lusting over for some time.ġ. But I hate the fact that it's not back-lit and that it takes AA batteries. I love the form factor of the original model, with the controls on either side of the display. It's the only system I've ever preordered and stood in line for. With that said, it could be a small price to pay if you want to take a trip down memory lane while turning some heads.I love the Gameboy Advance. Also, it won't be cheap when it costs $130 to have Thomas supply everything himself, or $110 if you have a DS for him to use. Thomas has lately been focused on shipping the first wave of orders, and isn't currently taking any more - you have to sign up for a waiting list to get a heads-up on future production runs. You can even specify custom case colors if you're eager to recreate the look of your old Game & Watch.īe prepared to wait a while if you want one. You lose the second screen (and thus native DS games), but the result is arguably much cooler. Modder Anthony Thomas recently started up Game Boy Macro, a service that turns the DS into a giant Game Boy Advance player - as the name suggests, it's basically a Game Boy Micro writ large. Your Nintendo DS is no longer the hottest handheld on the block, but that doesn't mean it has to sit in the closet gathering dust.

12/14/2023 0 Comments Pocket planes guideBoth carry too few jobs and go way too fast to mass produce. These aircraft fly much faster, and they would be attractive alternatives, but they have the similar limitation of speed and capacity. The other 2 aircraft in this category are the Tetra and the Fogbuster. That and the fact that I have to service 6 of these bad boys to get me my 60 jobs which isn’t worth it, especially when I can service 5 Cyclones or 2 Cloudliners, a Cyclone, and a Fogbuster to clear my layovers-all with saving me 3 slots in the process. This does save money which puts it in the competition with the two highest planes, but the time it takes to complete a flight is too long to really make flying it worth it for me. The Sequoia does have a great range, but it can only carry 10 jobs and it flies just a little faster than the X10. One of them is better than the others and does compete against the last two well enough, but it’s being addressed here because of two noticeable limitations: speed and capacity. You were unlocking aircraft every two levels, and now what? Welcome to the dry spell.Ģ0-24, these levels unlock three okay class 3 planes. The Aeroeagle is slightly more economical because it carries one additional job and flies much slower than the Pearjet which would save you money.ġ7-19, well they had you going there. The Pearjet is faster and carries slightly less, but it is still a great money maker depending on your playstyle. Here the Birchcraft and Equinox are unlocked, and they are useful for clearing regional layovers that don’t involve crossing the atlantic but do involve practically crossing the entire region directly (even the Mapple may have to divert to Kansas City, Phoenix, or something else to get to DC these aircraft would be able to do it directly).ġ4-16, congratulations! You made it. I believe it is the only class 1 aircraft with a 1p/2c configuration whereas all other 3 capacity aircraft are 2p/1c.ġ0-13 are pretty forgetful as well. I wouldn’t say the p/c configurations are worth it because the Mohawk and airvan have you covered there, but the m configuration is something you may want to pay attention to. It’s forgetful because it has a terrible range but a decent speed. The other more forgetful plane is the Anan. The Mohawk is just below the X10, and I would put it above the Kangaroo, because it does not travel as fast as the X10, but it can carry all cargo or all passengers while going significantly faster than the Kangaroo. The X10 has the widest range for its 4 job capacity, and it’s the fastest plane in its class at that capacity, but it can only carry 2 of each job type. The Kangaroo flies the slowest, but it can carry 4 of the same type jobs or go multi as well, and it has the worst range. The Kangaroo, Mohawk, and X10 are all pretty good planes. The Supergopher is also pretty good for its range, but it can only carry one which is why I would say it’s mostly forgetful in the early game when earning money, coins, and xp are more important.Ħ-8, you unlock the best class 1s in the game and one kinda forgetful plane. Planes to pay attention to are the Navigator, Wallaby, and Airvan because they would allow you a 25% bonus if you get all jobs going to the same place. The listed aircraft are going to be mass-produced depending on your play style.ġ-5 don’t really have amazing planes. The other planes may be useful in moderation, but you aren’t going to make more than a couple of each. TL DR: Planes to pay attention to include the Kangaroo (7), the Mohawk (8), and the Mapple Pro X10 (8) all at class 1 the Pearjet (14) and the Aeroeagle (16), class 2 and the Sequoia (22), the Cyclone (26), and the Cloudliner (28). Disclaimer: Sorry for the book, but it’s a discussion covering every level unlockable plane in the game. 12/14/2023 0 Comments Six flags safari nj couponSimply pick your park to find their telephone number, email address, and mailing address. Of the receivers Oregon signed in the 2019 class, Pittman has displayed the most talent and maturity, and I expect this spring to be a jumping-off point for a strong 2020 season. He arrived in Eugene for the second half of spring practice, excelled in the spring game, then dove head first into preseason camp, impressing onlookers before, well, a dive knocked him out for a good portion of the season. Spring camp last year was the beginning of Mycah Pittman standing out in practice. That will be noticeably different from how the Ducks have approached things the past several years. Moorhead runs a tempo offense and likes his quarterbacks to have carries in the low double-digits. Herbert’s running ability was important in the final two games last season - he rushed for three TDs in the Rose Bowl, including the game-winner - and the quarterback utilizing his feet should continue to be a storyline this spring with Moorhead as the OC. This is a monster spring for him from an on-field standpoint, he’s basically starting in the same place as Butterfield. But he missed much of the spring because of illness, then was shut down early in the 2019 season with a shoulder injury. I’m curious to see how Butterfield stacks up this spring, especially when compared to Shough.Ĭale Millen signed with the Ducks in December 2018 and enrolled last January. Butterfield’s high school coach, Ryan Partridge, raves about his former quarterback’s football IQ, something that will be critical to winning the starting job in new coordinator Joe Moorhead’s offense. Jay Butterfield and Robby Ashford are the new faces for Oregon at quarterback, though Butterfield gets a head start because he enrolled early and will participate this spring (Ashford arrives during the summer). Let’s now see if the play matches when the Ducks open spring practice Thursday. Shough sounded serious, three months before the start of the biggest spring of his career. And at the Rose Bowl, I got the sense that Shough was focused, prepared and ready to try and carry that torch. The moment Herbert decided in 2018 to return for his senior season, Shough knew exactly when his opportunity to take over would begin. They just sounded a little starting quarterback-like. And it was a completely fine interview, with completely fine quotes, like “You have to treat every game like you’re the starter” and “I try to put myself in situations as if I’m going to be playing it is different between when you’re starting and you’re the backup, but in your head you have to make it as real as you can” and “The goal is to play, and I have to be ready.”Īgain, perfectly fine quotes. We talked about being the backup in 2019, not looking too far ahead and the things he’s been working on to get better. And maybe that confidence should be expected, considering some of life’s tougher moments before his arrival in Eugene.īut at Rose Bowl media day, I found Shough to be holding back slightly when talking about 2020. Shough, teammates have often said, is his own person. 12/14/2023 0 Comments Fostering financestraining and development programme and a generous financial package. If you’re writing a paper, verbalize the words as you type them. If you’re reading a book, pause for a second after every chapter and verbally come up with a summary. Also, if you’re studying from your notes, review them audibly. You need to hear the information to get it … so speak loudly enough to hear your own voice. When you’re reading, speak the words aloud under your breath. Whatever you’re learning, there is a video for it.Ĥ. Learning about the Civil War? Watch a short documentary about it. Reading The Odyssey? Watch an animated video of chapter summaries after each chapter you read. So you’re taking an anatomy course? Watch videos about that. Remember, the more ways we can come at the material - or the more perspectives or versions we have of it - the better we understand it and the longer we remember it. Second, you get a chance to hear the information presented a little differently from how your teacher taught it or from how your textbook explains it.First, your brain likes to hear information, and of course the videos have audio along with them. There is so much information out there - in video format - that can help reinforce what you’re learning in class. But for this study strategy, it’s best to find someone who isn’t familiar with the information, like a younger sibling, a friend who’s not in taking that class, or your mom.ģ. When you’re studying in a group, the other people are generally familiar with the material. This is different from studying in a group. This study tip works for all learning styles, but it works like magic for auditory learners. Of course, I always advise that you study by yourself first, so that you get a clear picture of what you do and don’t understand – and then you can take your questions to the group.Ģ. Because auditory learners benefit from hearing information and talking about it, group study sessions of 3-4 people can make a huge difference in how you process information. Characteristics of Auditory LearnersĪuditory learners - those who prefer to hear information - have some key identifying characteristics that make them unique from visual or kinesthetic learners. Once you do this, you can stop using all those study methods, note-taking methods and reading strategies that don’t work for you - even though they work for someone else. Going through the small effort of identifying your learning style can literally change everything about how you do school. It’s critical that you take the time to figure out what type of learner you are, and then use study techniques that work for that learning style. If you are looking for more information about all the learning styles, read my complete guide to learning styles. Some of us fall perfectly into one category, while others are a combination of two or more learner-types. Some people also argue that there’s a fourth style - the read-write learners. These are called learning styles, and there are three main ones: Auditory, visual and kinesthetic. You likely already know this, but we all learn differently. If they do, then you’re likely an auditory learner. If you don’t yet know your learning style, first read through the characteristics of auditory learners (below), and then see if they describe you. If you know you’re an auditory learner, these study tips are for you. These study techniques make sense for how the auditory brain works. I have my work PC with dual monitors and a Wacom for when I do rigging or testing. I’m extremely excited for it to be aired next year. We are just starting production on MysteryQ’s very first animated TV show, aimed at 12 year olds. Also, it’s harder to tell if the information is sinking in when people have their cameras off - or if they’re even still there on the other end! I think people are less likely to ask questions over online training. Training has had to be done over video call with screen sharing, which isn’t ideal. Thankfully, it seems to be going pretty well! Our remote pipeline has really been a huge group effort between the amazing production team, leads and IT manager. How has working from home changed your creative and professional processes? Most recent production(s): Sound & Fury (Netflix Original Animation) We spoke to five animators and story artists around the world to see how they have adapted to working from home, what they are doing to stay motivated and inspired, and what they have learned and loved from the experience. Fortunately, with digital solutions like Storyboard Pro and Harmony, teams can still share projects and collaborate. The animation pipeline is the embodiment of the industry’s collaborative foundation and for those used to being in an in-studio team, shifting to working from home may not be so easy. While plenty of artists already had their own work stations, not all were prepared for the psychological challenges of staying creative and motivated in isolation. With the right hardware set up, a strong Wi-fi connection and digital tools, the transition from the studio to a home office can be seamless. With broadcasters and streaming platforms unable to create live-action content indefinitely, the demand for original animation is poised to continue growing. Prior to the current situation, many major animated features and series were co-produced with teams working remotely around the world - making the recent adjustment relatively smooth. One the perks of being an animator or story artist is it is possible to work from almost anywhere. 12/14/2023 0 Comments Naxos to paros ferry timeNaxos City, or Chora, is the island's largest town and capital and is built amphitheatrically on the island's west coast. Stewart's Calculus is extremely well-organized, and it is great for both learning calculus and future reference. Calculus is designed for the typical two- or three-semester general calculus course, incorporating innovative features to enhance student learning. There are books out there for those who desire a more mathematical approach, but what such people really need is a mathematical analysis book, not a calculus book. Stewart's book will take you right through calculus I and II and into multivariate calculus and differential equations, which is quite a good foundation for data science. So, is certainty what we’d want students to expect? Maybe it would be better to encourage in students at least a modest level of skepticism and a healthy appreciation of counterexamples.īill Satzer ( ) was a senior intellectual property scientist at 3M Company. Certainty, such as it is, can take a long time in coming and often relies on review of results by colleagues and the community of mathematicians. Many distinguished mathematicians have offered apparently rigorous proofs that were wrong, and for a whole variety of reasons. Our standard will be certainty: when reasoning about a problem, our goal will be not just to determine the answer, but to become certain of the answer.Ĭertainty is a fine thing, but is that really why we value rigor in our arguments and proofs? It seems to me that rigor is a means of trying to avoid error, perhaps of attempting to achieve certainty. The author doesn’t exactly define it either, but he says this (italics are the author’s) in his preface for students: The word rigor is used in a number of ways by mathematicians and is rarely defined. Certainly students finishing this book would be well prepared for analysis. It is clearly not a book for every calculus student but it might work well for an honors course. He does indeed succeed at keeping his book from becoming another analysis book. This is a well-written and well-designed text that consistently follows the author’s standards of rigor. The author’s intention to focus on using calculus to solve problems means that we also see many of the usual applications and examples as well as plenty of practice of the typical “find the derivative” and “evaluate the integral” exercises. The remainder of the book follows in this fashion: careful definitions, theorems precisely stated, and proofs of pretty much everything. This theorem is used a number of times throughout the book. Plausibility of the nested interval theorem (any nested sequence of closed intervals whose lengths approach zero has a unique real number that is in all the intervals) is illustrated by figures. Finally he states and proves the standard general limit theorems.īy the end of the chapter on limits the student will have seen not only formal definitions of continuity and of the limit of a sequence of real numbers but also the completeness of the real numbers via the nested interval theorem (without proof) and its consequence the Intermediate Value Theorem. He then provides several examples of finding limits of functions and then proving the result using the definition. The author includes a section called “What Does ‘Limit’ Mean?” in which he provides the formal definition of the limit of a function with explanation and motivation using pictures, formulas and words. It sets the tone for the remainder of the book. The first indication that something is different is an extended chapter on limits. The usual topics appear: limits, derivatives, integrals and their applications, and infinite series. He emphasizes that his is a rigorous calculus book and not an analysis book.Īt first glance this looks like a typical first-year calculus book. The author’s intention is to treat the usual topics of first-year calculus but to do so in a mathematically rigorous way while keeping the focus on solving problems. This new text from Dover’s Aurora Series offers a take on introductory calculus that is quite different in spirit from most current calculus books. |
